This particular client had a split personality when we started working with them. The original partners each had a vision that didn’t quite mesh. We helped them to work through the brand development process and arrive at a name and a vision that they could all live with. The largest undertaking for Kalaheo Steak & Ribs was the environmental design, or “brand immersion” as we like to call it. Taking into account the history of the neighborhood, and of the previous restaurant that was in the same location, we developed a plan that leveraged historical photos of paniolo (Hawaiian for cowboy), many that were provided by community members. The interior was completely gutted and refurbished to be a comfortable community gathering place. And the steak and ribs are so “onolicious” that they simply must be eaten to be believed.
