Once the brand position was planted, this logomark grew out of the fertile soil of their new name. This logo design won a 2010 Honolulu Advertising Federation “Pele” Award.

Turtle Cove Logomark

Designed for a fun-loving couple that owned this small bed and breakfast down in Poipu who have since retired, this logomark was created in 1993 and is still one of our favorites. Timeless.

South Seas Hotel Logomark

This client found us on the internet and loved our logo design work. They contracted with us to develop a logomark with t-shirt sales in mind. This illustrated logo was a huge hit with visitors to their hotel who gobbled up all the shirts so fast that they placed a double order on the second run.

Lappert’s Hawaii Logo Design

In previous iterations of the Lappert’s Hawaii logomark, the founder, Walter Lappert, was very prominent. Once Walter retired, it was time to start minimizing his image, move him into the founder role, and make the name more prominent. We also started leveraging the newly developed brand essence and bringing it alive in the new logomark and across all of the consumer touch points.

Smith’s Logo Designs

After the “Smith’s Motor Boat Services, Inc.” umbrella brand was approved, we drilled down to each of the unique services that they offered. The two logomarks shown here represent: Smith’s Family Garden Luau and Smith’s Fern Grotto Wailua River Cruise. They also have a wedding business and botanical garden which are not included here.

NoKa‘Oi Cookie Logo Design

A boutique cookie maker from the island of Oahu came to us when she wanted to upgrade the look and feel of her company. This delicious logomark has a bright tropical feeling and shape of the Hawaiian archipelago has been captured in the ‘crumbs’ of the cookie.

Holo Holo Logo Design

Holo Holo’s previous logo design was of a petroglyph turtle, but once we completed the brand position and discovered that their brand was actually based on being fast, we knew the turtle had to go.

Honolulu Cookie Co. Logo Design

Since Honolulu Cookie Company already had a concept in place, we just refined the typography and the pineapple to give it a fresh new look.

Hanalima Bakery Logo Design

When Hanalima Bakery approached us for help, they already had a loyal local following because of their exceptionally delicious cookies, cakes, and breads (and awesome plate lunches too!). All they needed to take their business to the next level was a strong logo with a personality that matched the quality of their products.

Kupono Café Logo Design

This logomark was actually illustrated the old fashioned way, then digitized and enhanced. Our illustrator used this specific style because it best fit the client’s brand. One unexpected result was that the Executive Chef liked it so much, he had it embroidered on his chef’s coat.

AirVentures Hawaii Logo

When you’re flying around in an airplane, you feel free as a bird, and the tropic bird included in AirVentures Hawaii’s logomark is part of the local culture.

Coconut Isles Logo Design

This online purveyor of Pacific Islander artifacts came to us for a logomark reminiscent of a bygone era. The end result was also used on t-shirts that were a huge hit. Winner of a 1999 Honolulu Advertising Federation Award of Excellence.

Splash Café Logo Design

We first helped this unique Kauai cafe to refine their product focus (crepes and coffee) and then we created this logo design around the mermaid concept that our client wanted to build the brand identity upon.

Poidog.com Website Logomark

This is a project that never got fully funded through their venture capitalists, but we did get to do a cool identity for the site. Poidog was going to be a classified listing site covering everything from soup to nuts, thus the name “Poidog!”

Hawaiian Volcanic Artesian Water

This logo design is for a Big Island company which sells bulk water from a natural aquifer on the island of Hawaii. The design captures the essence of the relationship between evaporating sea water, upland showers, and the land—which make the product unique.

Kauai Sunshine Markets Logo

Fresh produce is abundant on the Garden Isle, so creating a fresh looking logo that would attract consumers to the island-wide sunshine markets that are open to the public all around the island on different days of the week was like shooting papayas in a barrel.

KVB Souvenir Pin Design

This ‘logomark’ was developed to go on a souvenir pin which the Kauai Visitors Bureau hands out at various industry trade shows and events. It captures many of the unique natural elements associated with Kauai in a petroglyph illustration style which is indigenous to Hawaii.

Tahia Logo Design

When we did the initial logomark for this black pearl company in Tahiti, the full business name was Tahia Collins. Since then, a few things changed on the client side, so we reworked the logomark to be just “Tahia,” which means “princess in Tahitian. Thus, she is the “Princess of Pearls.”

Kauai Music Festival Logo

This annual festival brings luminaries from the music industry to Kauai for a week of workshops and events. The identity design we created for the festival won a 2004 Hawaii Advertising Federation Award of Merit.

Royal Coconut Coast Logo Design

The logo design for the Royal Coconut Coast of Kauai captures the fun, approachable, ocean-front nature of the area—with a nod to the coconut plantations which lend their unique flavor to the region.

Pacific Tile Logo Design

Once the brand position was approved, we provided the client with several naming options. The original name proposed was Pacific Tile Traders. The client eventually decided on just Pacific Tile for her name, and then we designed this very creative mosaic-like logomark to represent her business.

Kauai Made® Logo

We created this new logo for the Kauai Made® program to give them a stronger, more legible, more “hand crafted” feel. The symbol is a “ho’okupu” or “honored gift” which was traditionally an item of exceptional value which had been wrapped in a ti leaf lei.

Kalaheo Cafe & Coffee Co. Logo

This neighborhood cafe is a fun and eclectic place to have a great cup of coffee, fresh baked good, garden fresh salads, and any number of other amazing breakfast or lunch dishes. It’s a “rise and shine” kind of place, thus the sun in the logomark. You should see the roadside sign – it turned out quite beautifully.

Brennecke’s Logo Design

The client had been using the fish in the logomark for over 20 years and asked that we please incorporate it into the new logomark, so we accommodated his request. Appropriately designed also as a drink coaster, Brennecke’s serves a mean mai tai.

Kawaikini School Logo Design

Kawaikini is a Hawaiian Charter School on the island of Kauai. The logomark is derived from the name, and supports the mission and vision of the organization. Because they are a non-profit entity, we provided our services at a reduced rate in an effort to give back to the community.

Kuhio Auto Group Logo

The Kuhio Auto Group was created with the consolidation of several Kauai auto dealerships who each had their own brand and identity. This logomark design gives the group a strong, consistent, and identifiable position in the marketplace.

Kalaheo Steak & Ribs Logo

Our good friends Caroline and Ernie opened up this fabulous new neighborhood steakhouse just around the corner from our office. This is the logo we designed for them based on their input of what they wanted the logo to represent.

Silver Falls Logo Design

“Happy Horses” are alive and well at Silver Falls Ranch. The waterfall in the logomark is actually located on the property. I’d be a happy horse if I lived there.

Poipu365 Naming & Logo Design

Our client is very connected to Poipu, so her logo needed to reflect both the area and her personality. She is bubbly and vivacious, but also very professional and highly ethical. Her logo needed to have some of that personality, but also tie into the area and the company name. The colors are representative of both the client, and the area (Poipu: the sunny side of paradise!), and “365″ shows up in the swirl that forms the “P”. Pretty sweet!

Aunty Lilikoi Logo Design

This is another logo project that was just a facelift based on the client’s original concept. We took their simple typography and lilikoi flower and just added some artistic elements and depth to freshen it up.

Wahooo’s Restaurant Logo

Fresh seafood. That should be what you think of when you see this logomark. They specialize in preparing seven to eight different fresh seafood dishes every night with special sauces prepared fresh every day. Yummy good!
